About me
When we moved to this house in 2000, We loved the house and the idea of having a garden for the first time in our married life (having previously lived in a flat) To be honest we were afraid of the challenge. However it was not too long before we grew to love gardening, we learn every day and what we don't know we read about, ask other gardeners, or watch countless gardening programs!! Anyway we got so proud of our efforts we entered into the spirit of things by taking part in our local gardening competition and have since won cups for garden and blooms. We concentrate very much on a summer garden, with borders and hanging baskets etc. During the winter we are kept very busy with a reminiscence group which we started in 2006, we meet once a month to share memories of our town and its people - it is great fun.
We have two grown up sons both married, one lives in London the other in Portlaoise Southern Ireland. We have six lovely grandchildren.
Being retired is a very busy time and we love it.
May 2022 Update.....Lots of things have changed since I first wrote the above. My husband was diagnosed with Dementia and sadly I lost him in August 2019. I have however carried on keeping the garden as nice as it was when George was here to enjoy it. It is a lot of work but it keeps me busy and happy. I do it all by myself except for cutting our big privet hedge. My son moved from London and now stays just 10 minutes from me with his wife and our 3 grandchildren. My other son still lives in Southern Ireland. Due to covid he has not managed to visit Blairgowrie for almost 3 years.
