A week away

Tomorrow we are going on the first leg of our journey to Scotland to stay a week with our daughter, we stop over halfway. This visit has involved the hospital arranging for an oxygen machine to be at our daughter’s for the duration of our stay, plus 4 cylinders for going out and about. We have to take 6 cylinders too for our two overnight stays at a lovely hotel in Yorkshire.
I,like all of us really, used to take breathing for granted, but not now. I want to say how lucky I feel to live in a country with a National Health Service like our’s. Maybe not perfect, but amazingly good.
We shall do a bit of sight-seeing and at least one visit to a garden centre, as she is a very keen gardener too. There are some lovely places up there of course, most of which we have seen already, but I hope to see some lovely Autumn colours. There are bound to be lots of differences in her garden since our last visit so I’m looking forward to that. The other day, she saw in a tree right outside her upper window a whole flock of long-tailed tits, 2 Goldcrests, the smallest bird in Britain, smaller even than the Wren, several bluetits, a Bullfinch and 2 robins – this was all in half an hour.
I’ll take some photo’s, I hope to show you when I get back – will miss you!
Attached is a photo of the Yorkshire hotel we’re staying at.

What a smashing looking hotel, Mad! Enjoy!

The colour up here right now is getting nicer by the day and we've got some frost forecast for tonight, so that should really 'sharpen' things up a bit!

Have a great holiday, and don't forget to pack your camera!

Thank you all, very much. I certainly will take my camera and hope to photograph at least one squirrel as there are usually quite a few around the hotel. Yes Tulsalady it does look posh, but it isn't really, surprisingly reasonably priced. Been going there for several years when we used to go up every 6 weeks to see my Mum who died a year ago. We're going to plant some daffy bulbs on her grave.
I love my new digital camera so want to use it a lot.
I'll raise my glass in the bar to you all.
