Garlic, corriander and chilli bread! This is yummy (if you like chilli)
Ingredients: (put excess into freezer!)
X 1 pack of really good salted butter
X 2 lg hot red chillies, chopped (from greenhouse!)
X lg bunch in hand fresh coriander (from garden pref!)
X 5 lg garlic cloves…..from garden!! (if poss)
And here they are, glass of wine optional, to taste, for the cook!
I know I only have one chilli here, it wasn’t enough!

Chop corriander or if you are lucky enough to have these fab herb scissors….

And crush garlic…

A lovely mess of colour and flavours!

Add all these ingredients to already room temperature cubed butter….

Ciabatta bread is great for this recipe, I cut in half and then cut into 3 slices and toast it.

I wrap the excess to put in the freezer for another day and spread the rest onto the toasted ciabatta. Put in a hot oven, abou 220 for 5 mins

And hey presto, excellent garlic bread with a twist!

Great scissors arnt' they!! Will tell the person who gave them to me that thay are now famous on Goy!! the pepper mill is wood, layers and layers! I gave the mill to Old Tom, who I looked after for 5 years. He never liked my presnats I gave him, being a grumpy old so and so, but he loved this pepper mill. I took them with me after he died and think of him everytime i use it, which is quite alot!

13 Feb, 2011

Some thing different for lunch Lulu 33, just put it in to favorites .....

14 Feb, 2011

I'm very impressed by all this favouriting!! Thanks everybody. Also think Skips's quick chutney sounds delicious, will be trying that one out next time I go shopping!

14 Feb, 2011

I love the sound of Skips chutney, I wonder if there's a lower sat fat way of making yours Lulu, don't suppose olive oil would work to bind it like butter, I've got high cholesterol $¦:-(

15 Feb, 2011

Oh BA, hmmm, let me think....chop ingredients and rub onto the ciabatta (obviously no butter) So thats garlic and coriander rubbed onto the toast, you can then sprinkle it with S & P, olive oil and maybe some chopped tomatoes......give that a try!

15 Feb, 2011

Will do Lulu, thanks. I just must say that this is the worst kept secret I've ever seen lol $¦:-)

16 Feb, 2011

It's just after midnight as I read this blog and it's making me want some of your delicious garlic bread :) I don't have the ingredients to hand which is probably just as well at this time of the night/morning! lol

Those scissors are the bees knees....will be checking around for them too! Thanks Lulu.

17 Feb, 2011

Garlic bread at 00.20!!!! Lol! I'm off for a cuppa as I can't sleep!
Those scissors really are cool, makes quick work of chopping herbs!

17 Feb, 2011

Naughty but nice!! I haven't eaten butter for a long time, worrying about its cholesterol content.. but I'm tempted!! I want to try this one!!!!!!!!!! With a fresh baguette!!!!!!

24 Feb, 2011

Forgot to tell you; a glass of wine for the chef sounds familiar to me!!!!! Great attitude!!!!!!

24 Feb, 2011

It's the ONLY time I eat butter (except for homemade Hollendaise!)

24 Feb, 2011

I should lift the ban on butter ONLY for this recipe then!! I eat loads of cheese, so maybe banning butter makes no difference anyway :o)

24 Feb, 2011

True!!!! Funnily enough I'm cooking the secret garlic bread for lunch today for mates, who are stuck in traffic in Bath at the moment!

24 Feb, 2011

Ho ho ho what a coincidence!
Have a lovely (long?) (liquid?) lunch Lulu!

24 Feb, 2011

Liquid not, friends tee total! AND it's a quick lunch as it's a flying visit sadly.

24 Feb, 2011

Oooops, I guessed doubly wrong :-(
Have a nice time anyway :-)

24 Feb, 2011

Had a lovely time thanks (and sober as Judge hmm think not, a nurse!) Hitting wine bottle in approx 39 minutes!

24 Feb, 2011

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time! Had a nice bottle wine (or two?) last night? White? I haven't had any kind of alcohol for the past .. 3 days, which is a very unusual thing! Credit crunch hit us hard! lol! Well, good to give my kidneys some rest?!

25 Feb, 2011

I did indeed drink some white wine last night!! Watched a recording of Alien 3. Then slept so well, right through a foal being born! Hubby was in the stables and I didn't even notice!! Will post a pic of the foal later!

25 Feb, 2011

I looked at the pics, how sweet! Amazing to see how quickly the foal adapted himself (herself?) to the bigger world! Just fascinating!
