….. the Met Office forecast snow for next week :-(((

Unbelievable !
I’m a real ‘anorak’ when it comes to the weather …. look at the Met Office site all the time and obsessed is the word that springs to mind :-/

Anyway, i’ve just looked on there now (Sat, 6.45pm) and next Tuesday and Wednesday snow is predicted, for this region, – light at first then developing into heavy falls.
Argh !

The very mild … no – warm weather we’ve had here has lulled all of us into a false state of comfort …. lightweight clothes and shoes but now we’re going to be in for a bit of a shock if it actually happens.
Here’s hoping they’re wrong :-))))))))

Merry Christmas ;-)

Oh dear not again, what a pain, hope it does not mean us in the South, will have to cover up so many plants, flipping weather!!!

27 Mar, 2010

Tt and Seaburn, i'd not heard this at all and it's a big shock !!!
No, i won't have much to protect but, after all this warm weather it's going to do a lot of damage to all the masses of new growth on everything :-(((

27 Mar, 2010

From the TV forecast I saw, the northwest of England is in line for snow, with possibilities of the snow spreading further east and south...:o(

Oh no, i am SO fed up with wintry weather, i've settled into this mild weather nicely :-/

How depressing...really thought we had turned a corner....only hope it doesnt do too much damage to the new growth as you say Louise. Our garden is really springing to life now.....

27 Mar, 2010

You had better be wrong ... we're going to South Devon for 5 days next week ... no hope of my daughter covering anything up in the garden !
What shall I pack ... heavy Winter coat ... sturdy boots ... spade to shovel ourselves out ?

Just checked Met office web Megan.....only supposed to last one day...Tuesday !

27 Mar, 2010

Wednesday too here .... 'heavy' they say :-(
With any luck it'll melt quick smart !!!

Just had a thought too .... the birds here are eating far more than usual .... do you think they can sense cold spells ?
Are they preparing for it ???

27 Mar, 2010

Hope so Louise. Sure the birds are attuned to forthcoming weather....our flock of starlings had disappeared for a few days ,but were back today. As you say...eating more. Many of our visitors have started building nests too......but at least have not yet got young to feed.

02 04 83 was Easter Saturday and it snowed. A proper white wedding!!!

1.6.76 it snowed too and that was that very hot summer.

27 Mar, 2010

The Summer of '76 was the year I met my husband-to-be ... remember it well ... that was an amazingly long, hot Summer ! : o )

27 Mar, 2010

Sandra, I got side tracked by putting the clocks forward on the oven, phones, microwave etc., then the actual clocks and my watch !
Took me a while to locate Herons pic. got there in the end, many thanks.
Tt. thankyou as well ... have learnt 2 new things today ! lol : o )

27 Mar, 2010

Well .......... !
GRRRR !

In the space of 12 hours the Met Office site has now changed its mind and says that there's just going to be 'sleet shower' and that'll be on Wednesday.

I DO wish these forecasts were a bit more consistent, it's irritating when there are such big changes in short spaces of time.

28 Mar, 2010

The forecast I heard for south wales is heavy rain, with some snow possible on high ground. Not ideal but not as bad as a blizzard :o)

28 Mar, 2010

I'm not looking at forecasts any more ... will just open the curtains each morning and it is what it is ! : o ) )

28 Mar, 2010

Megan, taking it day by day's the only way, isn't it ?
It's useless doing it any other way.

28 Mar, 2010

28 Mar, 2010

Just when I have put all my new plants in and hardened off my seedlings, Will wait until tomorrow nad see what the forecast is then, if its bad news will just have to bring my seedlings in till it passes ;0(
