Need cheering up !

It’s a while since I’ve done a blog, so why not do one when I’m stuck indoors, tooooo cold outside.
Some of you may remember that I enter the “in bloom” competition every year on behalf of my bowls club. After a break of one year because of a disagreement with the organiser, I decided to enter again in 2012 following a telephone call from the council.
The disagreement was about how, we, the bowls club were being judged in a category with other establishments that had their gardens done by professional companies. Our garden is looked after by just a few members, and almost everything (annuals) are grown by myself, either from seed or plugs. This wasn’t sour grapes, just fairness all round.
I’m pleased to say that the council decided to reorganise the categories and wanted us to represent them in our new category for the London in Bloom competition as we had been previous winners in the borough one.
We won a gold in the borough(2nd place) and got a certificate of excellence from London.
The emphasis was The Queens Diamond Celebrations.

Well done, I'm so pleased they changed the categories, it would have been a shame to not enter with displays like that, they are fabulous and well deserved the prizes, lovely photo's...
