6th of april

Congrats on the twins even though it was a few years ago :o) and I couldn't agree more. 2nd April is our wedding anniversary and it snowed then.
we had snow yesterday.

I never plant summer bedding until June, though that can also have frosts. GC make a 'killing' people spend at Easter then many re-spend in June.

In April of 1982 I had to climb out through the kitchen window because we couldn't get the doors open it snowed so much. It was literally over my head and I tunneled through the snow like a gopher hoping to find my back door. We also had big April snowstorms in 2018 & 2020. Nobody wants to see snow in April but Winter wasn't quite done with us yet! it happens. I'm not even thinking of Boston. Fuhgeddaboudit!

53yrs ago April 7th my son was born, it had been a bad winter, snow on the ground and very icy conditions that lasted well into the third week of April, 3yrs later April 9th, it was a Good Friday and my youngest daughter was born, we were experiencing a very warm beautiful April that went on to become a gorgeous summer, in the years since we have bounced backwards and forwards weather wise, like you I don't take any chances and know full well not to plant out my tender plants, untrusting of our english, very changeable weather, a lot of younger people think we are talking rot and don't know what we are on about, lol....
