My iris has flowered at last,i bought this at a carboot for 50p six years ago and it has never flowered,i was wondering what i had done wrong but my garden has been very dry this year,I thought it was dark purple but it has opened to this lovely pinky colour,would anyone know its name,im probably being silly and there are thousands of them,christine

It's a lovely colour and could be the one shown here:

but as you say there are hundreds with very small variations, put iris varieties into you browser, have a look and pick a variety - no-one will know, unless you are planning to sell it commercially!
