That is my aim this year too,Ladybug..I'm not growing or buying any 'doubles' ...it's going to be a 'help the bees and insects' ,hopefully.:o)

Isn't it nice to see everything growing back :o) I hope your cosmos attracts lots of insects. They are lovely flowers.

Oh, Hooray - I shall be planting cosmos for the first time this year - I didn't know they were particularly noted for being bee-attractive. I've never particularly liked double varieties of flowers - maybe it's a subconscious love of wildlife: haven't really thought too hard about it.
After all our 'orrid weather of the past weeks, we have been enjoying really high temperatures this past week, and our snow is nearly all gone. It has been strange to see, though, that with ice and snow still in evidence, we have had bees, hoverflies and a couple of butterflies zooming around in the warm sunshine. Where have they all been hiding away? No wasps yet, though, Ladybug; please keep them to yourself.! :o)))))

Ive spent the day in the garden with a wasp. He has just been wondering around checking everything out.
Had quite a few bees too & the birds singing all day :-)

I had to build a run a few years ago as I was fed up of having a paddock around my bottom trees where the dogs used to run, I still get bare patches but only on close inspection and they get a quick fix on a regular basis..I always grow Cosmos Daisies, in fact I noticed today that they are showing in the greenhouse, I always spread them over the garden as well so get the best of both worlds, spotted a huge bee and a hoverfly near the pond today and there are lots of ladybirds around this year already...
