ive realy been struggleing with the garden this winter, snow, work and being by myself and short on money, ive been on holiday all week and the sun came out sat and i thought “get of your bum and do it”,coz every time i looked out the window it was a mess and depressing me for five mins or so til i pulled the blind down lol,

so i realy dug in(get it)and have enjoyed myself just getting on with it,and ive had no clue what to do with it but it just clicked into place as i uncovered a little path and now i know just where to put the pond and all those plants that have been waiting for a home, blooming brilliant

all those othere paveing stones are comeing up too and are the base for my poly tunnel, now all i have to do is save for my patio wood and im going places, chris

Good for you...cheering you on as you develop your garden space, Chris. We've certainly had the weather for getting out in the garden as you say.

You are getting your head around it now. I am glad you are enjoying the better weather and as your garden develops we will all be able to enjoy it with you. You have made a great start.

Well done! Doesn't it make you feel better looking at your progress? I managed to get some things planted out yesterday, and managed a load of weeding - I feel heaps better about it as though a load has been lifted and it's spurred me on to do more today. I can see the garden trembling in fear! :o)

I'm glad to hear you were able to do a bit in the garden. It's difficult when you're on your own and have other things to do aswell, but when you get going it's so rewarding isn't it.

I know what you mean about getting down about the garden - the mind's willing but the body's weak - well it is in my case anyway - but today is the day - my first day actually out in the garden proper (if it doesn't rain).

I hope so Ladybug. We have had snow again overnight. I hope it goes as quickly as it appeared. It has been sunny and freezing for the past few days but I got my new beds finished before i came in last night. The days are starting to stretch out for an extra hour or two of daylight which does make a difference.

I have been feeling like you, looking out and seeing things that need doing. Yesterday was so sunny and cheered me up so I promised myself that today would be the day I got out there and made a start. I managed to tie up an escapee climbing rose (high five)!! Then gathering a black bag and tools I set off to start some weeding and tidying and was enjoying myself when the bad fairy laughed and down came a torrent of rain which finally sent me scurrying back inside. Drat!!! Never mind tomorrow is another day! LOL

Congratulations on all your hard work and keep at it and you will be so proud!

We woke up to snow this morning. It has gone but it is freezing cold, howling gales and pouring rain. Bring on the sunshine.

Congrats on getting a good start....sometimes I find I don't have much motivation until I actually get out there and do it. Then it doesn't seem so daunting. I have so many messy areas myself, mostly in back, it's an embarrassment & desperately needs tidying up. I live by myself also and it really is so much more difficult when no one else is sharing in the work.
