The sun was shining but a little chilly out about 4 degrees. It is a lovely beach and I have walked it many times. This time I decided to walk it full length, how long it is I don’t know. So after living quite near it for the last 45 years I said I would give it a go. I did ask a friend would he like to come he said no maybe Next Monday, I think I heard that before. Well of I went with my camera to take a few photos. I hope you like them.

Starting point….

Walking the beach with the wind blowing and the see roaring.

The Sea rippling over the sand reminded me of the washboard my mother used many years ago.

The Brent Geese were having a paddle

As I got to the end of the beach and the start of the estuary, after an enjoyable walk for one hour.

I met this little fellow, isn’t he cute.

He really enjoyed himself.

On the way back I had to use the rocks as stepping stones for about 100 yards as the tide was coming in rapidly.

Lovely pics Johnjoe - what a splendid beach. I've been caught out the same way with the tide on one near here, but there's a way out if you leave it too late.

The little dog is having a grand time - they do love the beach don't they?

Picture 3 is an excellent photograph of the moving sea.
Ideal for an amateur artist to copy.
Thank you for sharing your walk with us all.

Great blog! The advancing tide made me recollect that one of the most exhilarating times in a nature walk are those times when upon turning around at the end of it, I have had to ask myself, " Now, how do I get back?"

I nearly didn't look at your pics John, in case you were wearing those old stripey trunks of yours lol:-) Pleased that I did, the photos are wonderful. Unfortunately not many beaches in the Midlands, so I do envy you and I'm sure my two girls would love it too:-)

Thank you Marjories, the beach is about 8 miles from the centre of Dublin. We are lucky to have it as it is safe for bathing. We have a few more bathing beach's just as good.

Thank you Loosestrife2, you cannot be too carful having a long beach walk by yourself. I suppose I was a bit silly with the tide coming in walking the full length of the beach, as there were no other people around. Next time I well think twice about it.

Thanks Sandra, I love walking the beach as well. The sound of the sea and watching the tide on its way in creeping over the sand with every wave, is wonderful

Hi June, thanks for having a look at the blog, I was going to put up a photo of me going in for a swim in my 1970s style yellow and blue stripe swim trunks Lol.
Yes it is a bonus living so close to the coast. I say the midlands has its own beauty with canals, walkways, parks and so on.
