Hi gardening friends! This is just a short little blog to say sorry I have been away for so long and thank you as always for your fantastic photos which are such a source of inspiration!
I have been a bit poorly (asthma and very high blood pressure) and spent quite a lot of time in hospital earlier in the year and then was unable to do much for a couple of months. My garden plans for this year sort of fell by the way a bit, but then that’s gardening isn’t it? It will still be there next year and I may well have had some new ideas by then.
I am fit and well now, so able to keep the weeds down (well just)! that this blooming rain keeps encouraging. Just wish we had some sun to ripen the strawbrries as I have a bumper crop this year and can only keep the birds and slugs off them for so long despite pellets and netting!
Will take some pics and post them when it isn’t actually throwing it down!
Bye for now Jane x
PS So far (dare I whisper it)? no escapee sheep. But EVERY morning I nervously peer out over the veg garden and flower tubs to see if the blossom, blooms and other greenery are still in place!!

ITs good to see you back Jane, with or without sheep, pleased to hear your health is on the up again and yes the garden plans will be there another day, easing yourself back into it gently is far more important, are your roses ok? after last years munch attack, I `d be checking those fences daily in case another adventurous woolly one got any ideas. lol.
Take care ..Sunshine and showers for us today....

Hello Jane21! I don't think I've spoken to you yet, it's nice to meet you! Don't be fretting about the garden, as you say it's not going anywhere, just use the time for planning next year's onslaught! And you're doing the right thing by keeping the weeds down, I had an op on my shoulder, and it was to one thing I did my best to keep on top of, even if it meant just sitting flat on my btm on the lawn and shuffling around the border! Everybody laughed at me! Take care!

Hi Jane. Nice to hear from you. Sorry to hear you haven't been well but pleased you're on the mend.

Hi Jane, good to hear your health is improving and your managing to do a little at a time in the garden. It can be frustrating when you have such a set back so take care.

Lol! Annella! At least I have a name for it now! That's funny! ;0)

I do that sort of weeding too! Usually after a couple of glasses of wine!

I couldn't possibly know what you mean!!...did however fall into a rose bush after a 'come to dinner!' dinner, when I had two glasses of err...something?, (I don't usually imbibe!) so when we were going home, a rose at the top of a slope beckoned me...zigzaged up the hill, bent over to smell a lovely blossom and tumbled straight into the middle, it took 5 minutes to unhook me! Well, after they'd all had another good laugh at me!! ;0)

Hi Libet nice to meet you too! I think there must be a moral in that story - don't sniff roses after a glass or two of something! Actually probably a good idea not to do much in the garden after a couple of sherbets! Janex
Oh by the way you have a beautiful garden! Jx

Lol! Jane, I know! Never look at a rose through the bottom of a glass, it was a prickly lesson learned!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked our garden, that's a very kind comment!x

Hi Jane....I haven't been reading your blogs previously either...so a happy discovery :) A spell of poor health really makes us appreciate being in tip top condition and I am pleased you are now recovered. As others have said, your garden will all be waiting for you when you are able to get back to more than the weeding. This rain really does bring out the weeds, I agree!

Take care, Jane.
