Wisley!

On Good Friday I went to visit Littlek. She met me at the station and said ‘shall we go to Wisley, now?!’ So we did and got there for the last couple of hours before it closed. We had time for tea and cake, though, before we went round devouring the plants with our eyes!

Near the entrance there were pyramids of pansies.

The ‘February Gold’ daffs were, like mine, in full bloom 2 months late!

We spent several minutes watching the antics of a greater spotted woodpecker, as well as a nuthatch and several great and bluetits on the giant birdfeeder.

The woodland area was carpeted with blue scillas and chionodoxas.

The camellias looked good against the pine trees.

I loved these funny little narcissi cyclameniuses (spelling?!) in the rock garden. The flowers are little yellow tubes, one half like a creature’s snout and the other half like laid-back ears.

We stumbled upon some beautiful dwarf irises.

And then we ended up in the shops, and ooh we could have spent so much money, but it was closing time! :-)
