Beautiful Spring Day

Hello all!
I hope you’ve had sunshine too? It’s helped me forget my bad back! Looking round the garden at everything shooting and planting some new purchases

Also sowed some marigold seeds – French ‘Red Cherry’ and African ‘Space Hopper’! these are great for colour on the patio and to bring in the bees hopefully and I just had to fill the space on my sunny windowsill left by the tumbling toms seedlings which have progressed to the greenhouse.
My brother in law has just bought me down some baby strawberry plants for the pot I bought cheap at the end of last summer. It’s got 4 holes but I could do with some guidance on how to plant it up and whether the plants need to be a bit bigger? They have not produced any runners yet. My patio is a sheltered sunny spot. Any advice?( They are an early variety called ‘Mae’.)
Am wondering if the cleome seeds and verbena boniarensis I planted a few weeks ago have failed to germinate for some reason. Still not doing too badly for my first attempts at seed sowing!
Really enjoying my garden in Spring – I think this may be my favourite Season.
Hope you are too?
Love Jo x

Hello Jo ~
I'm pleased the sunshine made you feel better :o)
Spring is definitely my favourite season.

For us Friday 13th was the springlike day. Today we had a bitter cold wind again. I don't begrudge you your sunshine, gwendas, but wish that ours ahd stayed a little longer.

We had a sunny day yesterday (but chilly wind) and it's sunny again today! Hope Scotland is bathed in it today, too, Bulbaholic

My husband got most of the grass cut yesterday because the mower came back from being mended (again!) I did a lot of tidying and weeding and tried to make decisions about the removal of apparently dead Erigerons.

I hope the sun lasts into this afternoon as I am off to church soon.

Sounds like you have had a wonderful day Jo. I'm still waiting for the snow to melt and the ground to thaw. Its getting there slowly although it did snow a bit overnight. :o(
When I planted my Verbena it said on the package to provide darkness for germination. I don't know if your Verbena would be the same.
