Making an Entrance!

Making an Entrance!

This arch will form the entrance to our "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" themed garden. Until this afternoon, it was elsewhere in the garden and was green.

Many Thanks, Folks!

I must say that I prefer it brown, rather than green. I want to create "iron" gates for this, too, to fit in with the story. The climber, Janette, is Lonicera (Honeysuckle), a variety called "Mint Crisp" - how about that, then, to fit in with a chocolate theme? I found it last week in Homebase, reduced to £3!
It gets creamy white flowers, petals edged in pale green. Yummy!

More climbers are in the "pipe"line, including clematis "Willy" and Chocolate Vine!

Thank You, Joyoustub!

We have loads of plans for that expanse of moss-ridden, squelchy "lawn", too!

I like the brown too! Your honeysuckle sounds quite pretty, can't wait for spring to see the flowers!

Neither can I, Grammazoo! Have tracked down some of your plant suggestions in the UK, btw - many, many thanks!

Janette! I was in a real time warp then. Saw your comment appearing, but unable to reply till now. Isn't "Mint Crisp" just pure delicious? No wonder I get ravenous working in the garden! Just can't put on weight, though, lol!

Pretty arch.
I look forward to seeing what you do with the "moss-ridden squelchy lawn" :o)

Thanx, TT! Yes, that "green swamp" has to go! In my mind's eye, I see a few gentle terraces, some new lawn turf (but not this expanse, as I hate grass-cutting), lots of plants, and a "chocolate river" meandering down towards the arch (which was a gift from my employers).
