I had some precious seeds for VB from a friend here on goY ...I planted it near the back of my border and promptly forgot it....not sure if I weeded it out or if it just didn't like where I put it... wonderful to see a success story! Will definitely be more careful about VB next time I plant it...was thinking that the best idea might be to buy a plant...do they spread?

Hi Lori....I originally bought a plant, i find VB to be a fairly short-lived perennial, but i find lots of little seedlings in my garden and i move and take care of them...so perhaps if you bought one to get you started, then you could let the flower-heads ripen and fall and you would always have this lovely plant in your garden...they transplant very readily too....I find seedlings everywhere, in plant pots etc.....Good luck and Happy Gardening.....:>)
