Really lovely Drc....I was sent 'summer wine' and 'frans hals' from Bbb.....I love them.....I remember reading somewhere Hemerocallis are not affected by the red lily beatle...Its gall midge which would be more inclined to attack them...It causes the unopened buds to swell, a sign that the gall midge larve is present...Yuck!!
Thought you might like to know that.....:>)

Thank- you Motinot I didnt know any of that. - Just been reading it up Yes, Daylilies are not troubled by Lily Beetle or any other problems of bulbous lilies. The RHS society have a map of where the gall midge is - its mostly in the lower half of England and the south east is worse. It does not occur so much on the later opening ones. That explains why I have never been troubled with lily beetle thanks Motinot.

Lovely photos! I think one of us has a slight confusion though. I was also very kindly sent some Hemerocallis by BBB and they are looking great this year - but the one you call 'Laura Pooh' was labelled 'Kwanzo' by BBB. Who's correct, I wonder?

17 Jul, 2011

They're very nice, but is that really Laura Pooh ? She sent me one and said it was a pale colour. She deliberately sent me a pale coloured one because I said I prefferred them.

17 Jul, 2011

These are the names BBB sent I have had quite a job matching them up, I still think this is Laura poof though why not look it up on line and see what you think? Meanwhile I will pm BBB and ask her what she thinks too.

I've had a look on google. It seems to be a yellowy colour. How disappointing :o(

17 Jul, 2011

I have seen it listed as pink/cream and tan to Hywel ??? I think it gets confused with all the other Lauras?

17 Jul, 2011

Maybe BBB will be able to clarify it

Looks really nice.

Hi y'all!

Oops! It looks as though I may have mislabelled one of the hemerocallis. Easily done when they're not in flower and there are upwards of a dozen different cultivars bundled into a box. To clarify the situation (very humbly, I might add). Ha! I'm a humble bumble! Anyroadup, the pic captioned 'Laurah Pooh' is in fact, to give it its full title 'Hemerocallis fulva flore pleno 'Kwanzo'. (Flore pleno in the name of any flower signifies double flowered.) Apologies for the confusion. I'll try and find a pic of 'Laura Pooh' and post it in a short blog.
