The method is to plant a few Strawberry layers in as many 8" pots as you have space for, in August. Now !
I will be using soil from my compost bin.

The plants are put outside until November, when they are covered with straw. ( Or fleece.)

In January they are brought into a cold greenhouse and the real work of producing champion fruit begins. They are regularly fed with solid fertiliser, blood, manure and potash. This seems to be every time they are watered.
I presume this means Fish, Blood and Bone granules
round the side of the pots, and Liquid Seaweed, which are available to modern restricted space gardeners.
They are kept in the pots.

When the small fruits begin to grow they are thinned down to 7 or 9 to a pot. I am saving Y shaped Buddleia twigs to support the fruiting stems next summer.
