Wow Dawn...so beautiful! Everything looks gorgeous n the sunshine. We've had two days of fog and rain now...its quite depressing. It was more or less dark here at 3.30pm today.

Thanks Karen. Oh dear, its just as well you made the most of your recent sunshine. It did rain all morning here but then the sun came out late afternoon.

Oh it's looking amazing Dawn, I love the vista in the second pic, and the stunning arching conifer. It's been a lovely autumn so far hasn't it?

Thanks you everyone.
Stera - I thought it was early too and its covered in flowers. Simbad and Oliveoil have Mahonia Charity in flower and they shouldnt flower until Christmas. No flowers on mine :-( and no flowers on my autumn flowering prunus.

I will try Lin, if the sun shines I will be out there!

I agree...keep those blogs coming! I've been outside this afternoon removing clay to the field edge and planting some newbies in my drive edge border. It was lovely in the sunshine. Might get it finished tomorrow.

Dull and miserable here as well ,it was a greenhouse day re-potting etc. We always enjoy a stroll round your garden Dawn the autumn colours are spectacular ....

Our Mahonia Charity is usually flowering well before Christmas Dawn. I don't know whether its regulated by day length or temperature. When we bought it I expected it to flower early spring.

I've just enjoyed browsing through all your October blogs, Dawn (quickly before my computer goes doolally again!). Lovely photos in every one. We haven't had any frost here yet but it is definitely getting colder. Loved the kingfisher photos too and spotted one on a walk with Millie a week or so ago. No photo though, just a splodge of green/blue in the corner of a quick 'snap' :)

It all looks wonderful Dawn.......the frost hasn't done too much damage. It was dry enough today to let me cut the front lawns. You know me and my lawns. Perhaps that was the last time. Yours look really good Dawn. Do you have a sit on lawn mower?

29 Oct, 2015

Thanks DD, I will try, I might get some other blogs done in the Winter on past projects.

Mahonias being weird this year, except in my garden, still in bud.

Busy, busy busy Karen! No doubt it will be amazing.

Hi Gee, computers -ugh. Glad you saw a kingfisher, amazing, arent they.

Hi Linda:-) No the frost was fairly harmless, always more damaging in Spring. So you've been lawning, nice, bet they are perfect. Yes, we have a ride on mower, that is one job husband does. Its really good as it mows and mulches at the same time but doesnt leave any cuttings, amazing really. We had one a few years back that sent the cuttings up a tube into two bins at the back, spent more time emptying the bins that mowing, this mower is really fast.

Lovely leaf colour.....especially for so late into October.
My Acer leaves suddenly fell off(every one of them) over night Saturday!

Thanks Paul. My leaves are hanging on by the skin of their teeth. Some of the acers are still loaded though, yuh, all that leaf collecting.
