Square Foot Gardening

I have known about this for years, but my OH just did not get the concept.
We have a piece of ground 9′ × 4′ at the edge of the patio.
No room for veg? Oh yes we have. I introduced him to the web site on the internet, now he gets it!!!
I have bought him the. book from the US and he is converted.
The bed has been dug over and weeds etc extracted, it has been edged with boards and is now ready to be divided up.
We went this morning and got some bags of compost to top up the bed and also some farmyard manure for the garden generally. Seeds also found their way into the basket at the garden centre…………

Great stuff. Our neighbour grows intensively in beds like this and they crop really well. Keep us posted.

Yes, there was a tv series " Square Foot Gardening" which used to be broadcast on our-USA- public broadcast channel. I think the name of the host was Mel Bartholomew. It was very popular at the time.
