gardens to visit,
home and away
from my own back yard
I have plenty to say

my family of plants
rejuvinate
as the season of Summer
opens its gates

I forget what I’ve planted
and forgotten where
but I remember why I bought them
and the reason why I care

a magical mystery
with my ‘friends’ of old
what springs up again and again
is a sight to behold

I love gardening
and gardening loves me
if I can’t be a flower
then I want to be a tree.
