Garden visit

I had the pleasure of visiting AndrewR’s wonderful NGS open garden in Bracknell yesterday.

It is obvious that it is a plant lover’s garden. Thousands of plants have been planted and lovingly cared for over more than two decades.

There were so many plants that I loved but will list just a few. The Japanese cherry blossom was absolutely spectacular. Many Hellebores were doing very well and looked beautiful. A massive custom built alpine trough with some rare varieties of alpines was so impressive. There was a lovely variety of Euphorbia which I had not seen before. I saw a species totally new to me which was beautiful – Trillium. There were so many varieties of them, in different sizes and colours. I would have missed a really tiny one if it hadn’t been pointed out to me.

There were many plants which put on their best show in summer. I forgot to ask if the garden will open again in summer.

Great job AndrewR, and thanks for opening your garden to visitors!

Anujag - now I'm blushing. Thank you for visiting, and glad you enjoyed my garden. It was nice to meet another GOY member and have time for a chat.
