A good Alpina Clematis is such a joy in spring.

I agree, Karen. I like them so much more than the large-flowered summer ones.

I love all Clematis Ange, except the montanas which are just a bit too woody. I think I like the patio ones best, and the florida group which I could never keep in Scotland. I might try them again here!
