I haven’t been gardening at all this week….a first! But have been very busy sewing a Tudor gown for my granddaughter Chloe. She’d been learning all about Henry and the Tudors and for the last day at school had to dress in costume. I found this curtaining with trees and deer etc and have finally finished it!….:o)

Clever you Janey , she looks a picture .. i,m sure she will enjoy tomorrow and be the envy of the class :o)

My grandson was also having a Tudor day a couple of weeks ago , I had to scrounge an old grey blanket to make him a Tabbard and an apron plus a collarless shirt etc . for his school day out at Kennelworth hall in Suffolk .. I soon found out that its very difficult to get hold of blankets these days , we will have to save the outfit for future does .. :o)

It's fantastic! She looks absolutely great in it, and so pretty. Well done, I could never have done something like this in a million years. It took me three years of home economics lessons to make a pinny. I hope they give out prizes, surely she'll win first prize!

Thanks Spritz and Alice........thats very kind! Took me back to my school days, we had to make a mini dress in black and white (lined of course!) and a spring suit when I was 14.....pleased I remembered how to do tailor's tacks......Lol!!

You have talent !!!
The fabric and colours look perfect for the period too, how did you manage that !!! :))

25 Jul, 2009

Ha..ha Louise........ the green was a pair of new curtains given to me but didn't go anywhere, but I kept them cos I liked the design with the deer and trees and elephants....then this came up and they were just perfect for it with the gold.....:o) Then I saw the same material in a fabric shop and it was £17.99 a metre, so I liked it even better!
