Went out in the garden between showers to find the garden covered in little jewels……….

The more I looked the more I found……

Some were bigger than others…….

Heavy drizzly rain most of the day here. After reading your blog I'm trying to think of each drop as a jewel but failing miserably! Must admit you have taken some fantastic photos there - I must think more positively :)

Lovely Camellias there Dotty! Pouring down here since 3:00, but it was sunny this morning and I was out pricking out seedlings and dividing clumps of snowdrops....at least I got something done before it started!!

Wonderful blog and photos Dd,must remember to think of rain as the downpouring of jewels rather than just soggy and damp lol :o))

It shows that raindrops can be very beautiful Dotty which is some consolation as its been pouring down all afternoon! :o)

Brilliant photos Dots, you got some gorgeous plants there.

Beautiful exquisite colours - superb photography - the first six stun one with the forever contrasting range of greens and blue-greens and purples - then the two beautiful pink flowers - followed by a beautiful group of turquoise and grey-blue.... it all adds up to my favourite blog ever for sheer colour delight.
The jewels give the extra something for the otherwise somewhat plain photos 10 and 11.
Perfection !

I'm chuffed that someone else loves rain caught on plants as much as I do! Great blog - particularly love the striped camellia. A few more weeks and the alchemilla will be good enough to start catching the rain! No rain here, so still have empty butts! It was blowing a gale today but not as cold as I expected.

Thanks to all for your very kind comments, Gurthbruins I am so pleased you enjoyed the blog, I am starting to enjoy my camera a lot more now that I can understand it!! Karen you are right about alchemilla looks amazing in the rain......I just hope the rain knows when to stop......

Very original blog, Dd! I loved the photos of the raindrops on the leaves! I'd never thought of them as jewels before but I have often admired them!

It's been raining on & off almost the whole day here.

Nice to see the rain focused as jewels, its poured down here all day. My camelia has got a lot of catching up to do, its still in tight bud, so it was nice to be reminded of whats to come.

Thanks Balcony, it is just one way to cope with the rain........Stroller perhaps yours is a later variety, ours were late this year.

I have a deep red Camellia on the balcony my wife bought me last year for my birthday. I say dark red for the photo on the box the plant came in but I've yet to see a flower open! Having said that there are two buds on the plant but they aren't open yet.

I underplanted the Camellia last year with some Tete-a-Tete daffs that my wife got cheap at the supermarket where she works. They have blossomed very well. It's a mini experiment. The Camellia is in acid compost & is watered, most of the time, with distilled water from the tumble dryer. As I have other Tete-a-Tete daffs growing in normal compost & watered with tap water I wanted to see if there would be any difference. For this first year there has been no difference the bulbs seem to be just as happy in the acid compost as they are in the alkaline!

Clever experiment there Balcony, Camellias can take a while to get established, we had one bought back from Cornwall it has taken 5 years to get it to flower.
