Oh such Fun!!....

I thought I would try and write a blog by just dictating to my computer just to see what would happen, so far so good obviously it does not put in the punctuation but at least the spelling is correct!
I think this is a marvelous idea especially if you have a problem with the keys perhaps you might have broken your finger or arm etc.

as long as you don’t speak too fast the computer can keep up with you.. I think my oh thought I was talking to myself!!

do have a try!…. is great fun but you must remember to switch the microphone on first….. I am using a tablet so it is quite easy to speak into the tablet!

I thought I would end up with a photograph of a breast cancer awareness taken at one of our local garden centres I thought it was worth photographing as it was so pretty what do you think

well what did you think of my little experiment I only had to alter one word which I thought was very good? technology isn’t it amazing?

Well done Angela. You are leading us into new realms of technology! It worked very well, and as you say, ideal for people with arthritis etc. Love the pink garden, so pretty.

A close friend who has diminishing eyesight has found this technique so helpful....she thought her world would be so different when diagnosed with macular degeneration until she was introduced to this method and tried dictating her e- mails. Well done Angela!

Isn't that amazing! Thank you for being a trailblazer. I don't think my laptop has a microphone...
Cancer awareness - well that explains the total pinkness of everything!

Good day one and all I am so pleased you found the blog entertaining......for all those who wish to try...... my tablet which is a Google Nexus 10.has a microphone symbol to my extreme right just above the top of my keyboard , all I have to do is press the symbol and wait while it sets up, it tells me when it is doing this, along the middle of the screen above the keyboard then it will display speak now! (the tablet is on my lap btw)..then off I go!

Stera it was very pink but oh so pretty!
Meadow I have done emails, it is useful when I cannot be bothered to type!
Seaburn I know just what you mean, especially as my OHs hearing is so bad !! I spend the day talking to myself! I have some very interesting conversations!!!!

Technology certainly is amazing. That garden is so pretty. I'm not really a pink person, but that looks really good and is for a good cause.

Oh dear lol that's something I could never do, talk to a machine ... I don't like the sound of my own voice !
and also I don't think the computer would understand our local dialect and accent.

The pink garden is lovely and for a good cause.

It would be no good if you had any kind of local dialect Hywel, I would've to see how it translated it though ......

Wow, well done. Brilliant for someone like me who is dyslexic. I'm not too bad but if I get stuck then while I'm typing on my tablet, I will have my mobile phone ready, press the microphone symbol and say the word. Better then a dictionary for someone with dyslexia as looking at words don't always make sense lol.

Thanks Jen, I quite often use it for commenting, all I do then is put a full stop on the end, especially if I am feeling tired, and it can spell better than I can!! I would think it would be ideal for you!!

It is a good idea. Would have been great for my Dad. Poor thing could hardly read or write due to dyslexia yet was a very intelligent man. His generation treated him as "slow" , yet he managed to bluff his way most of the time, got a good job and we travelled the world because of it. Lost count of the amount of times I heard him say that he couldn't read something as he had forgotten his glasses. Would bring paperwork home for my mum to do. Something like this would have changed his life.

So sad for that generation, as you said treated as if they were simple, wouldn't happen now, thank goodness....so it runs in families then? I had no idea!!

Yes, my daughter Laura has it as well. My Dad was worse, then me and luckily Laura's is not too bad. She is what they class as high achieving and did well at school and went to uni. They say it is more male dominant but I've got 2 brothers and they haven't got it.

An interesting topic, Dyslexia. I really feel for your Dad, in the past they were thought of as being slow, I guess they didn't realise there was a problem. I'm glad that they pick up on it nowadays & our modern technology must be a boon. Thanks for sharing.
