**VOUCHERS** UPDATE DECISIONS MADE AT LAST!!

As you may, or may not have read my blog regarding Plantify gift vouchers received for Christmas……….

Due to me having to take things easy, I had plenty of time to devote to this, luckily OH let me make the decisions, although he was very happy with my choice, phew!!

So decided I would like several items instead of one big one……..the choice is below with added photos….

The first is a Cornus alba Kesselringii, we have several other varieties already, and dont they love this wet weather!! lovely black stems in the winter….

The next is another Cornus, this time with yellow stems, called Cornus sericea Budds Yellow…..

The next is from a favourite group of plants, the Hardy Geraniums, this goes by the name of Eureka Blue, very pretty blue flower (obviously!!) should be mound forming…..

And last of all Delphiniums Black Knight group, we grew these back in 2011, but they no longer appear, slugs? I have no idea, this is a photograph of how they were then….

So there you have it, I love having vouchers, such fun!! hope you like my choice, looking forward to the delivery now……

Good choices Dd....I finally persuaded my daughter to give us both vouchers. She couldn't see why....Why because I love choosing plants!!!!I was going to use them to buy a tree, but that would take the lot, so Decisions.....1 tree or perhaps 2or three shrubs. How long did it take you to come to your decision?????

Oh yes good choices Dd, I do like the yellow stemmed Cornus, what I'm wondering now is are you using a shoehorn to fit them all in, lol....
Still haven't spent mine yet..

Superb choices, Dotty, especially the blue Geranium - what a stunner! Thank you for mentioning Plantify - the site is new to me - and I have just given them an order because they do a cream Filipendula . . . looks great :)

Fab selection Dd....I get really excited getting vouchers (that's sad isn't it....:)). I wish my garden was larger, theres so much I'd like, but can't have!

Janey it is not sad at all, a great treat to oneself.. I know how you feel re a larger garden, but it is amazing how much we grow in this small plot of ours..Seaburn thanks.
Karen pleased you approve of my choices, salix also go well with Cronus, you have certainly got the room for them now!
Sheila you can never have too many hardy geraniums, hope you do well with your order, we have used them several times.
Lijemc. I plan to...
Linc's. a shoehorn would be helpful.... I believe Spritz has a magic one!!
Thanks Olive and Stera. glad you liked the chosen plants...
Gralew. it has taken a long time to get friends and relations to buy us garden tokens.....it took me a month to decide on these, Plantify have such a huge selection, which takes ages to go through..
All we need now is for it to stop raining, getting fed up now, enough is enough.
Thank you all for your helpful comments.

I'd never heard of Plantify before reading your blog, what a brilliant idea. I like your choices very much. I bought the dark cornus several years ago (Ebay) but it seems much slower to grow than my red and yellow stemmed ones. Yours looks a beautifully big and healthy :)

Thanks Gee I did see them on Ebay, quite reasonably priced too, must remember the black is slower, might have to buy another to help bulk it out.....

Thanks TT just waiting for them to arrive, and for the weather to improve.....

Just loved the plants you bought Dd, and I still have so very many fond memories of your lovely garden when we visited.
Vouchers are just so practical aren't they, though we have the same problem getting friends to choose those rather than other kinds of gifts.

Our friends vouchers helped towards a lovely wooden arch we bought to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary 6 years ago. This year we are hoping to purchase a Malus tree for our 32nd anniversary, to replace one of my lost Robinia 'Frisia' trees.
Vouchers win out every time to me..\0/xxx

Thanks Flori, just had a notification from Plàntify. . a delay with deliveries because of flooding with the growers, not surprised in the least.
Will you risk another Robinia Frisia.......

8 Feb, 2014

This flooding is affecting so much isn't it Dd? The knock on effect hits us all..Hope you get your plants soon my friend.

No, I don't think I dare risk another Robinia 'Frisia' Dotty, though I can't tell you how heartbroken I am at losing my two. The RHS still don't really know what is causing them to die, but it has been on-going since 2009, though they think the excess rain we have had these last few years may be part of the reason..
Trees are a costly item to buy, so will cut my losses and get an alternative instead.

Just added some snowdrops in the green to my garden today..It is blowing a gale here and is absolutely bitter! \0/xxx
