THE UNFURLING.......

Our collection of ferns goes back about 30 years, many moved south with us, and we have bought several new ones over the years….I just love them at this time of the year….here are some of the more interesting ones.

What follows are a few pictures of plants, on the verge……

Will the Hawthorn burst in to blossom without the sun?

Will the Wisteria wow us with it’s beautiful flowers without the sun? we can only wait and see ……
oops!! forgot the Wisteria picture, how annoying, should be able to just drag and drop, never mind, will tag it on the end lol
Here are some photos of plants that have survived the cold and the wet.

/

.!

Clematis Montana has certainly loved the wet, have never seen it look so pretty, here it is a white variety with Choisya Ternata…….

If you are still looking, last but not least (I promise just two more!!) we have flowers on the strawberries, we are growing these in pots in our wall containers, instead of flowers….

Sorry small fib forgot this one……most important picture of the grape vine lol
And the forgotten Wisteria picture!!

Well that’s all for now, will have to go and have a lie down now lol hope you enjoyed the blog……

Lovely - your ferns are all around the same stage as mine which pleases me as we are so far apart.
Clematis looks great...I refuse to comment on the Wisteria - in fact I refuse to even look at the picture - I am so envious :))

Fantastic set of photos DD. I enjoyed looking at them very much. Are you another Goyer with a new camera, your close-ups are gorgeous. I have not mastered the art of getting a good closeup with an out of focus background yet! can you tell me what the name of the plant is in photo number 8 and the shrub/tree in no. 15 please.

Daylily, Stripes, and Motty many thanks....Poppy now I can tell you what no 15 is it's a Crinodendron hookerianum, as for the other one I will get back to you, I have a mental block with this plant, decided to label it when I find out what it is lol and no it is not a new camera, just a few lucky shots.....
Scottish it has been very cold here, even the hardy ferns have lost their fronds this time. As for the Wisteria it is 12 years old and only the 2nd time it has flowered!!
Lincs yes if you dont mind!! and I remember lol
Thanks Paul are you expecting a frost then? they are reasonably hardy when they are established....
San thanks, we open in a month so we need sun, sun, and more sun!!
