The weather down South has been glorious the last few days, spent several happy hours moving plants around, as you do!! just about to pack up before the old back packed up,…… when I spied on Mr Darcy’s bench this butterfly, which OH tells me is a Comma stayed long enough for me to rush indoors and get the camera.(beauty of a small garden, not too far to run lol)

This butterfly gets it’s name from the only white marking on it’s underside which resembles a comma.

Dotty, that's a lovely photo ... The most remarkable feature of the Comma has been its severe decline (a 35% decrease) in the twentieth century and subsequent comeback ... it is now widespread in Southern Britain and came thirteenth out of twenty one in the Big Butterfly Count ... can you tell I'm interested in Butterflies at all ... lol! .......

Forgot to say that OH mowed the lawn today as I'm not allowed to do 'heavy' gardening yet ... first time he's done that for many years ... and I so wanted to supervise but thought better of it ... lol! ... I quietly did all the edging ... but kept peeking to check he was doing ok ... :o)

Thanks to everyone who commented, Shirley you take it easy, and do as the Doc says!! we too are butterfly people, was quite sad that we had so few in the garden last year, hoping for a better year this time.
