Inspired by the Sammy Cahn/Jule Styne song

… … sing along if you wish … ;o)

Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
But “Mister No-Nose” looks delightful

So since we’ve no place to go,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

It doesn’t show signs of easing,
With JR’s tassels freezing

And a white beret on show,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

The plants attract every snowflake
And Basset, he has a headache

The birds enjoyed lunch and so,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

To his left, there’s a white world glistening,
Hey, Truffle, please .. are you listening ?

To his right, there’s just lots more snow.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Our Gorilla looks cool and funky,
But he’s cold, like an old brass monkey ;o)

The wood pigeon says hello,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

The birds found their food by searching,
Then the silver birch gave them perching

But now that we’re all aglow,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

When we finally kiss goodnight,
How you’ll hate going out in the storm

But by snuggling out of sight,
Soon you’ll be happy and warm

Our Crocus is safe and cosy,
His cheeks are so blue and rosy ;o)

Now the lights are turned way down low,
Let it snow … … let it snow … … let it snow.

ROSE - Rioutously Outstanding Serenader Extraordinary?

bit lame, sure others could do better!

6 Feb, 2012

Hi Fran...

Maybe you could suggest that on a new blog.

Did they all sing along with you as you wrote the blog ? I did, as I read it lol ;o))

6 Feb, 2012

Well I havent enjoyed a sing song like that for a long time, very clever Terra and lovely snowy pictures. We had lots of snow Saturday it thawed a little last night making the pavements treacherous to walk on.Love t at first but wont be sorry to see it go now;0))

6 Feb, 2012

the genius is in not only rewriting the words to fit the tune, but having photos to fit as well!

Oh I enjoyed that, you can`t help it you just have to sing, I cannot read music but I instantly remembered the original song, lol.
Bless them they look so cute posing for you in the snow, Brynner is weird, he loved it yesterday but wasn`t really interested today, I love the way Conker and Truffle are all wrapped up cosy in their rugs after their time in the cold and Crocus looks very happy, he really is a gorgeous bright colour..
Smashing blog and pics Terra...

6 Feb, 2012

Brilliant blog TT and lovely photos:)

6 Feb, 2012

Thank you Sue ...
I heard you singing up there Lincolnshire ;o)
Strange with Brynner. Maybe the novelty of the snow wears off with dogs, just as it does with people !

We are all cosy here...Hoping you are too.. xxx

Great blog and photo's liked them all, Conker and Truffle look lovely snuggled under their blanket's.No snow here in Newcastle just a heavy frost and very cold.

7 Feb, 2012

Hi Neena...
Thanks for all the stars ... Lol.

I appreciate your comment, Avis. Hope you're keeping warm and safe in this cold weather.

Hello Nariz... Thank you :o)

Thanks Mavis ...
Glad you like the blog. I hope the snow stays away from Newcastle. Keep cosy and snuggled ! :o))

7 Feb, 2012

Brilliant Terra. I don't know how you do it, very very creative. I'll be going to sleep with this tune running through my head lol.

Lol Lincs Brynna is the only one who wasn't fussed on the snow. Maisey (cat) kept looking hopefully out the window, but everytime we opened the door or window she just gave us a disgusted look and ran back in the house lol.

7 Feb, 2012

Hi Sam ... Glad you like it...
I hope you're able to sleep with that music in your head ;o)

7 Feb, 2012

I must have had my head in the clouds..or snow..! just seen this Terra..brilliant,as usual..great pics ,and I only just remember the song .! (telling porkies now) ..Can you hear me singing from Yorkshire ? ..Yes? ...oh,dear that's a shame .Lol.

8 Feb, 2012

Another brilliant and original blog TT - your photos are spectacular but I'll admit that what at first seems to be postcard material ends up being a pain - our recent experience in Rome of this freak weather and consequent chaos is to be forgotten asap! I have NEVER seen so much snow and ice in the whole 4 decades I've been living here!

Ah well at least singing helps! Take care all of you

8 Feb, 2012

Wow...
a duet of Bloomer and Terry60 .. !!!
Yorkshire and Italy ... voices combined.. ;o)

Excellent singing.. Thanks for your kind words.

The freeze in mainland Europe has certainly been worse than in the UK. Weather forecaster is talking of more snow tomorrow in many parts of GB...

Keep safe and warm ! :o) x

8 Feb, 2012

I heard that too Terra, I did get to the shops today....

8 Feb, 2012

I've had good old chuckle at your blog TT - It's Fab-u-lous and very well illustrated!!!

8 Feb, 2012

Hi Petal ...
Thanks for your lovely comments.
Glad you enjoyed a good chuckle ;o)

9 Feb, 2012

This blog is brilliant, I don't know how I missed it.It's one of my favourite songs too. Thanks Tt.

9 Feb, 2012

Hi Homebird.
Thank you ... Great singing from you, wafting across the snow from the Notts/Derbyshire direction ;o)

9 Feb, 2012

Even the little grandchildren cover their ears....

9 Feb, 2012

Lol. Can you see the pic above of the sparrows in the globe feeder with the "snow beret" ?
That globe is hanging from a similar bird feeder to yours...

9 Feb, 2012

I'm glad you have one like it, because you always have so many birds visiting your garden. I bought a globe one to deter the squirrels but they have not been for over a year now. Terry took the middle out as the little birds weren't using it. We put fat balls in it now.

9 Feb, 2012

Good luck with the new bird-feeding set-up :o)

9 Feb, 2012

Thanks Tt.

9 Feb, 2012

Brilliant as always TT cheers

11 Feb, 2012

Hi Oldcrock. Thanks so much ..
glad you enjoyed my blog ... :o)))

11 Feb, 2012

Thanks Patricia ... very kind comments.
Glad you like the blog :o) xxx

11 Feb, 2012

All around the country people are at their pcs singing along lol another great TT xx

11 Feb, 2012

Thanks Dotty..
I heard your dulcet tones from Hampshire ..
.. great singing ;o) xxx

11 Feb, 2012

Almost missed this blog, Tt ... I hope the snow thaws out for you soon ... we have been so lucky in not having any snowfall here ... but the frosts have been pretty harsh ... :o(

12 Feb, 2012

Hi Shirley.
I hope you're feeling more perky this week.
There's still a snow duvet over my gardens, but a thaw is forecast later today ... It has been VERY cold !

12 Feb, 2012

I am surprised at the very low temps. in your part of the country ... let's hope the snow acts as insulation over all your plants ... :o)))

12 Feb, 2012

Slight thaw today.. primroses reappearing, having been snug under their snow duvets ;o)

12 Feb, 2012

Ha ha TT it certainly wasn't me then........dulcet I aint!!

14 Feb, 2012

Lol. Dotty ...
but what you might lack in dulcet, you make up for in bucket-loads with enthusiasm ;o)

14 Feb, 2012

Hi TT, I'd missed this blog until I read one of your comments elsewhere where you mention your blog called "Let it Snow, Let it Snow" as the title was so similar to my last blog I just had to find out what it was all about, besides the obvious snow!

My blog title was also based on the title of the same song but sung by someone else, possibly Andy Williams, as I'd been listening to a whole list of Christmas songs on my computer over the Christmas period.

Your inspiration puts my poor blog to shame! I'd thought of doing it like you but once I got started I forgot everything else & ended up just giving a description of the photos I'd uploaded.

Congratulations on your clever combination of words & photos! Like many other GoYers I was singing along with you!

Fortunately during the last couple of days all the snow has melted away.

15 Feb, 2012

Hi Balcony ... Thanks ...

Yes, I wrote this blog, and then saw your blog with the same title a few days later ! I'm not surprised you missed this initially, because I had made the three quiz blogs and then wrote "Let It Snow", and "Winter Optimism" in quick succession !

I don't usually publish so many blogs so quickly !

You sang along very well to my photos and captions...
... I could hear you ;o)

Yes. Milder this week....
... but forecasters predict rather chilly again this coming weekend !
