A Little Good News

If you have read my previous blogs you will know I have been at home for the past fourteen months following an accident. I used to help run a small nursery on the Hampshire Wiltshire border and adored my job, unfortunately after 6 months of being “off sick” my boss had no choice but to let me go.
Last Tuesday I had to go for an Interview with the Jobcentre plus people (for our friends overseas it’s part of the process you have to go through to get sick pay)
I had my “ Back to work interview “ with a very nice young lady whom to me seemed to be about twelve (I thought to myself I must be getting old) My prospects of getting another job let alone one in the horticultural trade was just about non existent. I left feeling totally dejected. Driving back home I thought I would call in at the garden centre near home (I needed plant retail therapy) Their was a huge queue of traffic waiting to turn into the road I needed to take so went to go the long way round. This took me out in the direction of the place I used to work I needed to get some more bird food so I decided to keep going and I would call in and say hi.
Nick my old boss was very pleased to se me. He asked what I was up to and was I working I told him where I had been. He smiled and said want your job back! (I could have kissed him but I didn’t want to put him off!! lol)
After a week of finalising all the details I am pleased to tell you I start back on Wednesday next week I’m going back part time to start with but by Christmas I hope to be full time. The Nursery specialises in Dahlias and has a field open to the public so there is a lot of work to do I am so excited I just cant put it into words.
Sorry for rambling on a bit but I just had to share my good news with you. I know some of our friends here are going through a rough time so I thought a little good news would help cheer everyone up!

Brilliant news Sue it's a bad news/good news balance restored, hey what about that traffic? We all complain from time to time when we get caught up in traffic, we get it a lot living close to the Trafford Centre AND Manchester United F/C (about a mile from both) But yours was good and I bet you are 'bouncing' just watch your foot when you finally land :o))) And you have the added bonus of being back at the old firm instead of having to get used to new. Well done you.

Way to go! Obviously they value you as an employee, the boss knows he can depend on you. Big time congrats!

Hey Bob, Life is similar all over isn't it? We have the largest shopping mall in the southeast US and now a new baseball stadium (America's pastime) both within 2 miles of us. I have handed out game and event schedules to all the family so we can try to avoid the traffic.
This area use to be mostly rural 25 years ago when we bought this place. Now it's a hassle just getting down the street! Well enough.

Again congratulations Sueb, I'm sure you deserve it!

Thanks Bobg and Wohlibuli ~I don’t think I have ever been grateful for a traffic jam before. I’ll never complain again
Thanks for your kind comments :0)
