UPDATE on the Front Garden ....

Last October we removed the central flower beds and laid a new lawn we used rolawn which I am pleased to say has come on a treat, it was more expensive but I feel it was worth it, we also made and erected a small picket fence to add a little bit more interest. Last week Paul our wonderful neighbour made and erected new side fencing which I have now finished painting – used forest green much nicer than the brown, well I think so anyway.
The crazypaving steps and pathway are looking much better now that the planting has got established and is softening the edges.

I think I`ve managed to achieve the look I wanted and no more alterations will be made … I think there`s no more steam left in the tank !!!!!!!!!.lol. just waiting now for this darn weather to warm up so a bit more attention can be given to the planting.
Sorry folks the photos are`nt in the order I put them in – don`t know what happened.

It looks great Stroller, so welcoming and I bet it gets many an admiring look from passers-by, you picked the right make for the lawn its very healthy looking and has taken really well in such a small time, it pays to go to that extra price sometimes, you certainly have a good result, I hope my Photina looks like yours in a few years...

Thats lovely Phyl. I think i can remember you saying that you weren't sure about the 'no -lawn' garden, and I must say, it looks great now. The grass sets everything else off so beautifully. I know that a lawn is hard work, but I wouldn't be without mine. Its such a great foil for plants!

I love the look you've achieved - a naturalistic setting with a touch of elegance.

You have such a lovely garden and that perfect lawn really sets everything off so well. There are pretty spring colours everywhere.
The plants must be very confused with the changes in weather that we have had, I know that I am!!

What a wonderful treat to look at for you and your neighbours, I bet you get a lot of admiring glances from passers-by. I know I look at everyones gardens when I am walking anywhere, I think all us gardeners do!
The crazy paving looks wonderful and the colour in the garden is amazing. Like Lincslass I admire your Photina, must trim mine so that it looks as good - hopefully.
Oh! and the lawn looks terrific, well worth the money spent, everything set off by the little picket fence - lovely.

It's all looking lovely, very fresh and pretty. I love the little picket fence, sets off everything beautifully. While you've been relaying lawn I've been reducing mine in the front garden. We could have swopped :)

Stera - I have to have got there this time, as the years go on the energy runs out.
Lincs - I`m sure your Photinia will look great, I cut a hole in the middle of mine a couple of years back, the neighbour was complaining he couldn`t see to get the car of the drive, but then I decided to let it grow again, he should try reversing on and driving off its his problem not mine.
Karen - I compromised in the end and had the back as a gravel garden and the front with a small lawn ... so happy all round.
Ta Linda,
Bathgate - such a lovely comment, thank you
Wildrose - agree with you on that one ... I can`t make up my mind about planting up my pots/tubs we are still getting such cold nights.
Honeysuckle and Sheilabub - your lovely comments are much appreciated.
Gee - It would have been fine if you lived next door, much cheaper. Hope your as satisfied as me with your makeover.

We had our back fence painted that shade of green and it more or less vanished behind the shrubs. It all looks lovely and fresh in your front garden.
