June

Weather has been warm or hot but there was a cool period during the second week of the month.

Although I love May, June is my favourite month. The roses are out along with my favourite hardy geraniums. A lot of the work is done, and there is chance to sit in the garden and enjoy.

I cut back Viburnum plictatum ‘Grandiflora’. It has become a little too big plus I need to replace the fence panel behind it. There are also a lot of weeds around it that I couldn’t get to.

I had intended to lay a brick path during my week of annual leave but didn’t get round to it. I did lay the bricks on the soil to get some idea of how it will look and I am pleased with it.

Went to Gardeners World Live with my parents. Rain held off until we were leaving. Some nice show gardens, bought some lovely plants, admired the botanical art.

I did a course in botanical painting for a year. I will never be a botanical painter but I do enjoy painting plants and flowers. The garden keeps me supplied with plenty of material. At this time of year I can’t keep up.

Visited Coughton Court in Worcestershire. Lovely walled garden with lots of roses.

Hi and welcome to GoY. I like your photos too. The arrangement in the jug is gorgeous. I also like the combination of flowers in the first photo.
