what type of soil is best

I have just put my pieris in the garden no acid, will it be ok

well they do say they prefer acid although i have a lovely variegated one which is is alkaline soil and seems quite happy there, hope this helps :o)

Keep watch on it as Pieris in general prefer an acidic soil, you could mulch with composted bark or the like
