Weed membrane is weed membrane - the only difference between them is how tough and strong they are, and that's intended for different uses - a really fibrous, tough white one for under driveways, a black, polycarbon slightly shiny one for use under gravel, or a black, thin, fabric type sold as weed suppressant either by the length from the garden centre, or in a roll of a few metres. The last is the one normally used over soil in borders, often with bark on top.
