pumpkins

Asked on 11 Jul, 2008

I am growing pumpkins for the first time. The plants are huge - much bigger than I expected! Each plant seems to have lots of flowers. What do I do? Should I pinch off some of the flowers? Does each flower produce a pumpkin??

Do not pinch off the flowers, that is were the fruit comes from, you didn't say what var. you have. Is it a mini or pie var. or one of the giants? If it is a giant it will need some support for the fruit. They really are not difficult to grow but the pumpkins can rot if they are overwatered.
