I have 2 peonies for years but they have never flowered, yet I have a tree Peony that has flowered every year since I planted it about 10 years ago

Peonies are fussy so and so's. They need to be planted quite shallowly. I gave up on mine and gave it to my sister (she can't get them to flower either).

Do you feed them at all Erva? We planted several a couple of years ago and they all flower well for us. Our newest tree peony (lutea) will flower for the first time this year.

I would think too deep is possibly the answer too. Compost placed nearbye or as a mulch can just put them too deep to be bothered to bloom. Funny old things are some plants. My tree peony moved from a pot to open ground is just coming into bloom.
