Gardening Questions Daffodil Spaces

I think I would plant annuals so that they could be removed easily - shallow rooting, too.. I think that planting perennials at this stage would be difficult as you would probably hit the bulbs (depending on the planting depth of the Daffodils, of course). Wait until you know where the Daffodils are coming up ie next spring before you plant perennials. Then it will depend on how much sun this area has as to what you plant. Hardy Geraniums are always a good bet as a starter idea.

I plant my daff in pot's and put them in the ground then lift the pots out later and plant away.

When my bulbs die down,I plant my courgette plants (which I raised in my cold green house,) into the beds,and I just leave the bulbs in place to come up the following spring. It has worked for the last three years and I have had good crops of the courgettes. I leave the leaves tied up until they die completely,and I add compost on the top as I plant the new stuff. Any spare space and I pop in a few lettuce plants.I prefer to have some nice home grown veg rather than the flowers which do not last long anyway.The beds give continual interest.
