am wondering what to do with the soil and remainder of the plants?
the only flowers I know the names of that are in there are Petunias and i have rescused some seeds
but can I keep it all and to grow again next year or are hanging baskets flowers usually one offs?

I'm sure you can 'squeeze' some garden funds from somewhere else Mookins. Don't forget you're a woman of independant means now! lol

Definitely not Mookins, don't let him have any say in the garden then you can have it exactly how YOU want it! :o)
You could allow him out there if you want some heavy work done though . lol

They come in handy sometimes mookins but not very often. My OH thought he was weeding yesterday instead he dug all my sweetwilliams out now i've got an empty border, and nothing to put in it. Me thinks I better go internet shopping.

Previous question
Most of the flowers used are annuals and won't flower again. Besides which, you always get a better display with fresh new plants.
Similarly, I'd compost the basket's contents and use fresh compost/moss etc next year, as what you have used will be exhausted of nutrients and will be degraded.
