Trailing Lobelia care

Hello my lobelia in my hanging baskets is starting to fade and I want it to see me through to the first frosts. I chopped it all back today with a pair of scissors. I didnt go mad just took the tips off .. well some two inch long tips in places .. was this the right thing to do ? I know its a bit late to be asking now ! any help would be appreciated

Hi Crooked window :)
Yes, you've done the right thing....chop it back, give it a good water and a general purpose feed, and it should carry on flowering until the first frosts :)
