There's a place that sells pots in Norwich itself - not a huge number, but very impressive selection. Its right near Ber Street, more or less opposite John Lewis's back entrance. I've checked that one out before and been impressed because the prices, compared to here in London, were good - pots for £40/£50 that here would be twice that. Don't know if that helps you much though...

Buy cheaper pots(large ones) spray paint yourself, spray paint about £3-5 a lot less expensive Mookins,i have also priced large coloured pots way to expensive£60-80,bit more work but in this weather ideal!!! :~)))))

How well does the paint stay on Mobee? I think the reason the fancy pots are so expensive is they are glazed and can withstand frost etc.

what about Roys of roxham? they seemed quite reasonable when i was there last year.
and there is that 'large' sells everything store at potter heigham just before the bridge.

Roys of wroxham thats just down the road from me I never even thought of them. We went to Lathams of Potter heigham the other day they werent bad prices but the colour range was restricted.
Thanks Bamboo but even £40 is well out of my price league. I
dont think spraypaint would last that well would it? but thanks for the tip mobee

We had a couple of holidays in your village Mookins and were there last summer on the tandem, in the rain. there's a surprise rain in Norfolk lol.

Mookins i have painted a few then clear varnished them, they are doing fine out all year round. I have also used oil based paints & then varnished still going strong:~))))

And there is a product that you can put on plastic before spray painting it that makes the paint stick better anyway - I just wish I could remember what it's called - all builders usually know what it is and its just initials, like, I don't know, PV3 or something.

its called sugar soap or good old wet and dry you just got to give it a key, varnish as mobee sais will be job done
28 Jul, 2009
can this be done on terracotta pots or only on plastic
x x x x
29 Jul, 2009
terracotta can be done but you wont have to give it a key as its already got one so yes and if you varnish them inside and out the pots will last a lot longer.terracotta pots are only fired to about 750 degrees so are pouras.this means they can soak up water and freeze and crack.clay has to be fired to about 1150-1200 to seal it so sealing them even without paint is a great idea anyway.you can kill to birds with one stone.you can use thompsan concrete sealer on terraccota to which is cheaper than varnish and over the spray paint.car spray paint is very hard to get of so though thats good for longivity it isnt if you spray it on something else.id do a load as a job lot in the garden, well ventilated and on a big bit if paper or old tarp.varnish for the plastic though

I reckon your best bet is to ring round locally and get the best price, Mookins, 'cos if you get them mail-order, you'll have a hefty P&P charge, as well. :-(
Try Superstores as well as GCs.
