Pampas Grass

I purchased some pampas grass and my husband is very negative on the idea of me planting it. We live in Wyoming. Hard winters. He is afraid it will spread by seed or whatever means into the pastures. He has already told me if it does, it's my job to remove it. Is this going to be a problem?

I don't think that Pampas grass spreads by seeding. The clump just gets bigger, but that's a different problem!
