Can anyone advise me on mould on Clemetis.

Each year the clemetis has to be cut down before it flowers because of mould, it is full of buds and looks healthy but is already showing signs of mould any suggestions what to spray with.

I'd address the moisture content in the soil first because a 'drought' to the plant will weaken it and make it susceptible to this .... if you can loosen the soil to about 3 or 4" down and feel that it's very moist (not drenched!) then ok, spray with a fungicide.
A lot of the time the plant isn't getting sufficient moisture, Clematis hate this with a passion !
