not easy as its the shady part of your garden bit thats possibly slowing it.im guessing youve fed and waterd it.ive managed to get light in before with a mirror or two. will it reach sun eventualy ? is it still in the pot ? have you got a picture ?

Is it a small leaved ivy, and is it variegated? It's a bit odd, because ivy will generally grow absolutely anywhere, though the smaller leaved and variegated varieties can be a bit slower to take off.

yes it is both, and at my last garden the ivy was happy to grow in shade in abundance!

Try feeding it with growmore, but only once this year - it's getting a bit late in the season for soft and sappy growth, and growmore feeds the plant for six weeks. Then feed it again in the spring, rake or stir it into the soil round the plant and water if necessary.
