Red Sister Ti plant. (Cordyline terminalis (Dracaena))

In a pot. Took longer than usual to get all new foliage after an early heatwave burned it back in April. It just wasn't ready for warm since its taken much hotter days once summer gets going.

We all need to get used to the change in temperatures gradually Stan. Plants are no different. It looks happy now.

Thank you Klahanie
I was really surprised to see it get scalded Waddy. It wasn't all that hot at 83f..just that it was a late March to start of April setback. It must have been in winter mode.

Unusual as you say, but, the weather/climate is changing..as it does I guess. Looks like it’s managed to get through the ‘scalding’ Stan.. a really gorgeous mix of exoticness here!

Thanks Kate. I think what got me started was that some houseplants I found could be grown outdoors. That was the first spark of my tropical growing. Because,in the 70's in the SF bay area? It was not very tropical looking at all. Much more chance- common- to see an English cottage or estate garden imitated than some south of the tropics of cancer look.
Around 2000 became a safe area here. Maybe not much warmer days..but the deep arctic cold visits stopped.
For now!
