Looks a lovely healthy plant - start feeding when the first tomatoes have set.
I love growing different kinds of tomatoes each year - do you?

Wow.....I'm so intimidated to do tomatoes from seed. I have some seedlings that I purchased, but maybe next year I may try from seed, I'm still very wet behind the ears! Great photo!

This is my first year at growing tomatos from seed. I used one of my propagators, as i do with my Begonia tubers. I didn't know if they would grow - but they did. I kept 2 which are now very nearly as tall as me, hard to believe that they came from such tiny seeds! The rest i gave away (unfortunatley i had to throw some away, as i had no room to grow any more full sized plants)

I was given this Tomato plant by my boss at work. I've named the plant Steve. I'll keep tabs on him over the next couple of months...

really different variety of orange and red stripey tomatoes bought from T & M January 2008 for Brooke to grow in the greenhouse.

sow seeds April-May

think i will start them off in pots in early april even if the other plants are all still in the greenhouse and them pot them up into grow bags once there is room in the green house.

* pinch out all the side shoots as they appear. the tomatoes will be ready for picking from August.

These fellows have the same circumstance as the peppers - bought as seeds and grown in a greenhouse tray, now in their own individual pots outside. The tallest are 3-4 inches high. I just discovered a problem - some of the plants are wilting on top for no apparent reason. I seperated them from the rest and can only hope the rest aren't afflicted.

Bought along with the pepper, also a huge plant that makes my homegrown tomatoes cry in shame. No probs so far.

Started seedlings from one fresh cherry tomato ( Sainsbury's Vittoria ), got about thirty seedlings, 20 of which have survived! I think growing from seed is fun and very rewarding, especially for an new gardener like me...
