I'd rather have Alan Titchmarsh...he's improved with age!

So glad you chose him, Pottyg
He definitely is the most qualified among loads of gardening TV presenters. I have raised my eyebrows often when reading remarks on him by GOYers, but, Carol Klein apart, I know of no-one else with the real-life gardening apprenticeship/experience. Have chatted with both at Chelsea as a member of JoePublic - fabulous people! :-)

Yes, I like him for his gardening knowledge too David! :-))
Seriously, I find his enthusiasm catching and the way he talks and explains how to do things understandable.

I totally agree, Pg. We are all at different levels of gardening experience, and he shows us how to do things so well!
The ultimate garden expert would, I think, be as hard to find as the ultimate completed garden - there are no such entities. Our own gardens, and the famous ones we visit, are but snapshots in time. Recreated grand gardens are planted up based on plans from a given era/year, but they would not always have looked like this.
I welcome any media help with my own progress down life's garden path, and I do welcome Alan's!

What else?
This photo is of "K. Plants in our "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" garden." in David's garden
