Cyathea cooperi - Australia Tree

My all-time favourite fern - wish I could grow it here. I do enjoy seeing these when we travel to cooler, lusher parts of our state.

Is that an aircon. unit it's growing happlily beside? must be tough tree ferns...

All the tree ferns do well here...however, they must be put on the north side of a building or under large tree where it's the shadiest...or they will sunburn. In the San Francisco Bay Area they are much more beautiful tall tree ferns...because they have better soil and receive a lot more rain...and it's cooler.

I think you're correct...the unit on the ground is an air conditioner. The Australian tree fern is one of the tougher tree ferns. It will tolerate a little more sun than most other species of tree ferns.
