Azalea - Johanna

Azalea - Johanna

It's covered in giant carmine red-ruffled flowers in the Spring; and this in the fall...very showy.

Great colouring.

Thank you. I enjoy the colorful foliage as much as the flowers.

What a beauty Paul.

Thanks Sheila. I'm glad you are safe at home. Sounds like a fantastic trip with lots of memories. (I almost mentioned the long, long, long plane ride, but remembered yeh, I'm across the Atlantic).

The long long flight still to come, unfortunately Paul. Back in about a week and then I’ll do an NZ blog :)

lol OK I'm glad you're enjoying your holiday. We are having our first snowfall as I type this woo hooo! GOOD TIMES!

Glad you’re enjoying the snow, Paul. Just remind me what cold feels like?!

Wow what a stunner

Isn't it? thanks Dawn! Who needs Christmas decorations! :)

Sheila - Have you ever held a barrel cactus with your bare hands? That's what the cold feels like.

Exactly the Holly and the berry and mistletoe was originally a pagan tradition to dress the house to show that a fruit grew through the winter celebrating winter hence where bringing Holly and mistletoe into the house to be luvcky to do with food not for wildlife not to ward of evil as portrade.

Paul, I should NOT have joked from NZ where the temp was around 25 degrees. Now home and our boiler has broken - no heating, and the UK is having a freakish cold spell - around 3 degrees!

Yikes Sheila - first, I'm glad you got home safely. Second, get a new boiler. Sounds like an emergency. I just had a new boiler installed back in August - Thank God! We are getting another snow dump today. 3rd one this season. The garden was 'flash frozen.' Stay warm. A pot of homemade chicken soup surely helps too.

Many thanks Paul - yeh, talk about coming home with a bump! No heating, and now no hot water, and naturally all the local plumbers are overworked. But we're managing fine with portable heaters and a working gas fire in the lounge. I'll think about making soup when I'm over the jet lag . . . :)) Hope your plants will be OK.

That happened to me right in the middle of Hurricane Sandy. Even though my house wasn't badly affected by the storm, my boiler cracked, so the house was flooded anyway!! And nobody wanted come help me during the storm. I hope you get the boiler fixed soon Sheila. We just had another snow dump last night. You'll get through it. hopefully sooner than later.

Yes, we’ll get through it ok Paul - at least we’re not flooded. That must have been a trial for you. Handyman arriving in the morning . . . my birthday! Restored heating would make a good present, lol!
