Its a start. After 1990's last great freeze...combined with GW, we are seeing plants in the San Francisco bay area we never saw before. I know you know Andy,but others might find that hard to believe. Yet,true.
Its like 1990 was the last blast of a ridiculous zone 8 kind of winter in a now Zone 10 land-lol.

Actually, prior to 1990 it had been so many years since a very large freeze (that was in 1972 freeze). The reason for so many exotics is that it's easy to obtain them now. It used to be very difficult to find all the interesting, exotic tropical plants. Now, most people just purchase the hard-to-find tropicals on the internet.
