Eh, I'm all good now. It looks worse than it is, really--especially now that Guvnah's helping out. :) Like I said in the blog, I mostly got a nice tan out of the deal. I think it is strange, though, that all of my sunburn that's left is what's on the tip of my nose ... Oh well. :)

Oh yeah! Hehe, I didn't even see them there! This is in my mom's kitchen, and she loves rabbits. There are little decorations all around the house! I guess I get jaded to them after a while. But I'll make sure she knows that they are appreciated. :)

I wonder if it would root if you stuck it in a pot of compost? Son of Vera ;-)

On question - Preservation?

I would have thought it would go squishy in the fridge - but it's worth a try if it gets knocked off. What have you to lose by trying?

I have loads of these - some of which have been outside for around 5 years and have survived many frosts! Sometimes some will just randomly die and others go on forever! Once i had one about a foot tall which i accidentally knocked over and it just snapped off from the root but i just wedged it back on top and it kept growing! My first one came from my Gran and I am reluctant to throw any of the "babies" away but I end up with so many that some just have to go!

Oh, My parents and grandparents were mad on these when I was a wee laddie! One of the first things I learned to grow from offstes. haven't seen them in decades. Many thanx for this reminder, Jasmine. Also, re our fuchsia "Twister", I thought that it was an annual basket plant, yet you say yours has survived from last year. Hope it flowers for you, again.

I agree with Blodyn. Repotting would be good. It looks like it got too much water. They really like to dry out between waterings.

It doesn't look too happy. Try repotting it in some fresh gritty compost. It looks like a type of Aloe.

Not overwatered, that's for sure! More 'under' if anything, poor thing...rather neglected in there. I just can't understand it. I like a challenge and shall be potting up some babies to keep the line going! Thanks for the thought and good wishes. I know it's not a specially attractive plant, but it really has got sentimental value after all these years. :-)

These are definitely hardy, way below freezing!I'd suggest maybe over watering, but after 40 years I reckon you know how to care for it. Maybe, if just moved to the spare bedroom, the need for water was drastically reduced (as it was cooler) and it has in fact been given too much? But hey, 40 years is a good run, good luck with the other one.
